Letrari, a family that has roots in the history of Trentino wine itself. Active as early as 1647 in Borghetto d’Avio, on the banks of the Adige, first as river raftsmen, then traders and shrewd agricultural innovators. With Leonello Letrari immediately on the wine scene of good drinking. Thanks to him if in the immediate post-war period the wines of the Dolomites acquire character and prestige beyond the regional borders. It is always he who ‘creates’ the first blends and in the 1960s he begins to develop fine sparkling wines. To then found in 1976 – together with his wife Maria Vittoria – the current family business. Tradition and innovation are the creed of the company, constantly applied with modern agronomic practices, with the work and dedication of the new generations. The same passion of Leonello today also animates the commitment of his daughter Lucia (winemaker like her father), who is entrusted with the major responsibilities of the company. Shaped by the particular terroir and microclimate of Vallagarina – an environment characterized by the Adige and influenced by the Ora del Garda, which creates a special Mediterranean-type microclimate here – 23 different types of quality wines with strong varietal characteristics are produced. The temperate climate of the area also allows a limited and selected production of extra-virgin olive oil with an exceptional fruity tone.
